A humorous and truthful look at why development projects always take longer than anticipated.
The long walk of building products.
Q&A with Ryan Elliott
“The main problems I see with [digital djing] are that when people swap hard drives then DJ, they end up with WAY to much music to choose from in the booth. There isn’t enough preparation in that way. With records, you have to buy them and physically pick them for your shows. Even with CD’s the act of physically burning the music to a disc and carrying that disc is a form or filtering or preparation.”
The incredibly talented and hardworking folks of Made By Hand are the forces behind our brand-new Tattly Promo. Yes, team Tattly has watched it numerous times and we all have big smiles on our faces.
A big thank you to Keith “keef” Ehrlich, the producer and director as well Elias Ressegatti the director and editor for their vision. And an extra special thank you goes toNathan Rosenberg, the composer. We are blown away and *happy*!

It’s not the weekend, but this is still required viewing.
SOPA is on my mind and this quick video wraps it in some compelling context.
Now, make your voice heard by sending your congressperson a real physical letter here.
Here is the letter that I sent. I borrowed pieces from Tim’s. Feel free to customize to suit your purposes:
Dear
I oppose S.J.Res. 6 (“A joint resolution disapproving the rule submitted by the Federal Communications Commission with respect to”) because the net as we know it today has been one of the brightest spots in the US innovation economy for the past two decades.
I am a venture capitalist and have been funding startups for the better part of 10 years. The companies I’ve funded have created thousands of US jobs. Most of those jobs are threatened by this legislation.
Net neutrality is essential for the internet to continue to be an engine of value creation. If we had truly open competition at the access layer, net neutrality rules would be unnecessary, because competition would deliver increasing services to customers. But what we have instead is a network of local monopolies. Left to themselves, these monopolies will choke the life out of the internet as we know it.
The industries that are promoting this legislation are big companies; they have your ear and are doubtless helping fund your campaigns. But the companies that oppose this legislation are the future of technology in this country.
Sincerely,
Bryce Roberts

When human beings acquired language, we learned not just how to listen but how to speak. When we gained literacy, we learned not just how to read but how to write. And as we move into an increasingly digital reality, we must learn not just how to use programs but how to make them. In the emerging, highly programmed landscape ahead, you will either create the software or you will be the software. It’s really that simple: Program, or be programmed.

Good tips from the Community Manager at SoundCloud.
Yesterday, we suffered our largest outage ever defending an unidentified DDoS attack that lead to a total network outage which - including a few ups & downs - lasted almost 24 hours.
